Phanteks 850RPM Case Fan Blades 20030mm Fan Retail Cooling PH-F200SP_BK Black

Description:
The PH-F200SP, a 200mm Premium fan from Phanteks is designed while using the unique Maelstrom concept technology. The fannies specifically designed to overcome high static pressure, blade deflection, and noise challenges. PH-F200SP is a great case fan upgrade option for users who want better airflow for their cases. PH-F200SP's nine blades with MVB feature produce powerful yet silent downdraft airflow. With the UFB bearing, composed by MOSS and SSC systems, long lifespan and rotation stability are made possible. Packaged and priced reasonably, PH-F200SP is the right choice for a case fan upgrade. PH-F200SP is setting the new standard in performance and compatibility.

FeatureThe new PH-F200SP are angled lower to achieve higher air pressure. The redesigned MVB blades generate better performance and better airflow. It improves the balance of airflow and air pressure when using with as a case fan.
The PH-F200SP has a larger base size with a magnetic brushless DC motor to avoid the effects of resonance and for rotational stability.
With the noise reduction challenges in mind, we modified the component for lower actuator noise, PCBA for lower electromagnetic noise, brushless motor structure for lower operating noise and frame rib for lower wind and vibration noise.
The new nine high pressure MVB blades are precisely angled to generate a silent controlled airflow.
The blades produces a downdraft vortex allowing for greater amount of air passage through and reduce airflow turbulence across the surface of the blades to create significantly better performance and airflow while keeping noise to a minimum.
Composed by MOSS and SSC systems, Phanteks' UFB bearings have an effective hub-tip ratio to achieve a state of equilibrium reducing air and vibration noise.
SSC provides an increase in the bearing's lifespan and ensures that the fan's axis is consistently operational and quiet.
Phanteks PH-F200SP comes bundled with a 400mm extension cable to improve cable management, total up to 900mm cable length for big full-tower case or Radiator fan upgrade. Eight pre-installed rubber pads are now bigger & designed to reduce more vibration.

Bad first experience with (200mm) case fan

review by madjinnsayan

Since the dawn of times, i have always thought 200mm were mythical fans capable of producing the tremendous winds of a dragon's flight while being as silent as a stealth predator thanks to the legends written on the internet. Now that i have acquired the beast, i look back and i realise these tales were brought by the elder tro?ls...

Here i am, ready to turn my case on for the first time, hoping the only noise i will here will be the slight woosh produced by the front 200mm, i press the button and wait...it takes me about 10 seconds to realise the truck motor noise i hear does not come from the window but from my case !
The v8-like growling from the bearing is unbearable (he he) and i immediately restart the pc hoping i can silence the litteral growling beast.
Even with the lowest RPM the noise is still very present, and makes other sounds blend inside it and not the other way around.
I decide to zip tie the fan as exhaust directly over the cpu and i am merely satisfied to hear a tiny difference in sound pressure.
I have kept the fan running like this until yesterday (2 months), where i simply pulled the plug on this neverending growling 'beast'.

TL:DR : noisy growly fan, phanteks pls replace with 140mm, do not separately buy. IMO case manufacturers should only provide fans that can adapt to the user needs (in this case, a quiet fan at lower/est RPMs, the airflow would have been limited, but at least i would have a running fan at the time i'm typing this.)

Even if you can bear the noise, i know there are better options to have a maximal airflow.

ProsCons
Bundled with phanteks cases, stylish, has no RPM spikesBundled with phanteks cases, Constant noisy growl on his entire rpm range, not efficient at a bearable noise state (lowest speed)

Bad first experience with (200mm) case fan

review by madjinnsayan
I have done numerous builds with these cases and not experienced the problem you are describing. I have 16 140mm fans in my personal build (Primo), 9 on my son's Luxe (incl front 200) and one on next desk (Pro) w/ 6 (again incl the 200m). Overall have installed over 100 Phanteks fans and so far I had only one (140mm) which made noise and then only when installed horizontally. Called Phanteks and they sent two replacements by overnight mail and told me to keep the noisy one, which I installed vertically in another case.

Every place that's tested the 140s has them at the top for performance / noise ratio. I expect rather than having a bad fan model, you just have a bad unit. call Phanteks and get a replacement. The fans use a modified rifle bearing. I'm not a fan of larger 200m fans and I wouldn't recommend installing them horizontally if you chose to install one. There are three possible sources of fan noise:

1. Bearing noise - faulty model, exchange for replacement.
2. PWN clicking (only applicable to PWM fans) - Not as yet been reported for Phanteks PWM.
3. Frame rattling - Generally not an issue when installed vertically. Use Phanteks vibration isolators which, for whatever unexplainable reason come only with Phanteks aftermarket fans ... not when pre-installed in case. Again, easily solved by calling Phanteks.
