Pros: HUGE 87CFM Airflow, Silent, looks great, sleeved cable, and can be undervolted

Cons: No sleeving on back side of fan or on Molex adapter

First off I would like to thank Prolimatech for sending me these fans.

Here is what comes in the box and the specs on the back.

The Blue Vortex 14 is possibly the best fan I have ever used. It is nearly inaudible, it blows an amazing amount of air, and it looks great.

The fan's 87CFM ought to be enough for even the most loaded systems. The fan can be undervolted and when done, makes absolutely no sound.

A nice touch by Prolimatech is the beautifully sleeved power cable. So many fans today do not have a sleeved cable. This can lead to tangled wires and an untidy build. The sleeving however, does not go all the way into the motor. Prolimatech might have done well to cover up the wires going into the motor as they tend to snag. This is not a huge problem, but a new model should include that.

A small thing I would have liked to seen would have been sleeving on the molex adapter, but it is not a problem that the wires are bare.

In conclusion, the Prolimatech Blue Vortex 14 is a great 140mm fan for $10. Every computer builder should have at least one in his or her system. This fan is definitely worth the money and I give it a 9.5/10 thumb.gif

Pros: Performs great as both case fan or heatsink fan, Performs quietly at all speeds, Looks great

Cons: Hard to find at a cheap price, Doesn't quite match Prolimatech's performance specs, Cables aren't sleeved

These are definitely worth the $21. I purchased mine in December of 2011 and haven't had a single issue to date. They perform beautifully as CPU heatsink fans, keeping my CPU at less than 20 degrees on idle most of the time. They look great wherever you mount them, and they are brilliantly quiet.
Unfortunately the cables are not sleeved and can ruin the look of your setup if you can't hide them well. Also, Prolimatech's claim of 87 CFM at 17dBA seems like a bit of an exaggeration. At a guess, I'd say they produce about 70CFM at the same volume.

Despite those minor cons, I can't find a reason not to buy these fans. In fact, I ordered four more just recently.

Update:
New fans arrived, now they come with sleeved cables, so that's one more reason to buy them!
