Pros: Mecanical, Leds ,ect

Cons: Confusing on the fly macro recording

I got the Razer Black Widow Ultimate Keyboard this past Christmas. It has helped me in multiple ways. To start the Cherry Blue switches are amazing! It has improved my typing speed and the mechanical keys take almost no force to press down. The LEDs make it look good and you can see the keys in the dark. The keys won't blind you because they are adjustable so you can see them in sunlight too. The media controls allow you to do a variety of things. I thought they just worked in Windows Media Center but I have used them in other sites too. Although they may be called Media Center Keys, you can on the fly turn off the Windows Key, adjust the brightness of the LEDs and put the computer into sleep mode. For the media center part you have mute, volume down, volume up, pause and play, stop, rewind, and fast forward. These controls work in You Tube. But because the software allows you to turn a key on and off I turned off the caps lock key so I don't hit it by accident. Also, in the software you can turn any key into a macro. The keys that are preset for macros can be set to type something or open a program. For opening a program all you do is go into the software, double click on the macro you want to assign it to and find the .exe for that program and click open on the bottom. I use the macros for opening programs.
The keyboard base has a rubberized coating so it has a quality feel. Without the stands up it is still raised so when you put the stands up the typing is very comfortable. This keyboard is also very heavy, 4 pounds to be exact. It shouldn't matter as it will just sit on your desk and the weight gives it a quality feel.
The few complaints I have are the confusing on the fly macro recording. The part that confused me is when you are done recording the instructions it says hold down the function key and press any key and you are done. When I did that it assigned the macro the key I pressed. When typing I nearly died when it started typing for me. I did not see that part in the instructions but, that is a very small complaint. The other complaint is on some of the keys it has two icons and only the top one is lit up. Again that is another very small complaint and I hope these two complaints I have don't discourage you from buying it.
I have not used this keyboard for gaming yet, this review is just about typing I plan to do gaming in the future and will update this review then. Overall this is a great keyboard and I would recommend it to anyone with the money who will be gaming and/or typing and I would say it is worth every penny.
Lastly, for a comparison I typed this review in under 35 min and without this keyboard I would probably still be typing this with my old non-mechanical key board. Thanks for reading this long review. I hope you enjoyed it.
Edit: The keyboard died, lets see how the rma goes.
