The Razer Deathadder 3500 DPI version

review by spectrewolf

Using the Razer Deathadder as a replacement for my MX518. Overall, this mouse is extremely comfortable and is a palm grip type of mouse. It has a nice rubberized coating on the top while the sides of the mouse has the regular, glossy finish. The mouse buttons have nice indentations for your fingers to rest comfortably on the mouse buttons.

This mouse does not come with software out of the box. You will have to download it from Razer's website but be warned, some users have had their mice bricked by updating their firmware. Not sure what causes this problem or if Razer has addressed this issue already or not. The software will allow you to change the mouse's DPI settings. The DPI settings are already pre set (450 , 900, 1800 and 3500). Polling rates are also pre set at 125 MHz, 500MHz and 1000MHz. These settings can be saved in 5 different profiles. Razer has added a little button UNDERNEATH the mouse to allow users to switch profiles. Pressing the button will change the profile from profile 1, to profile 2, to profile 3 and so on. The software also gives you the option to turn on or off mouse acceleration and manually adjust the master sensitivity or X and Y axes sensitivity. Each button ( 5 in total ), even the mouse wheel functions can be changed in the software itself.

Razer also sells spare mouse feet so they can be replaced when they get worn out.

If you get the normal version of this mouse, it comes with the pulsing Razer logo and the illuminated scroll wheel. These can be turned off in the software itself, but the software does not offer the option to stop the logo from pulsating.

Overall, not the best mouse out there as you can get cheaper mice that has more functions but I'm sticking with this as it is the most comfortable mouse I have ever used. Using this with my Razer Goliathus Dragon Age II mousepad and it moves around very smoothly.

EDIT : This mouse has no weight adjustment feature

Good mouse

review by arsin

It seems like cheaper plastic than other mice I've seen, comparing mostly to the Logitech MX518. I mean, it looks like it'll withstand a lot but it doesn't feel as tough as the MX518, perhaps it's just the matter of weight difference to me.

The profile switch on the bottom? That I don't understand. I owned the Lachesis for a bit, till it started bugging out on me, so I returned for this instead. The Lachesis had a spot for it where it was reachable to switch on the fly. I don't need to switch DPI on the fly often but having the profile switch on the bottom is a bit annoying, and when you do hit the switch, expect a >1s downtime on your mouse.

Took my mouse to a lan party, returned with some of the braided fiber staring to seperate

ProsCons
Light, lights aren't annoying, nice long cordProfile switch on the bottom of the mouse

Razer Deathadder 3.5G Gaming Mouse

review by snipekill2445

This is a decent gaming mouse from Razer. It supports upto 3500DPI and 1000hz rate. I find it feels nice to hold but I dislike like the glossy sides. It has a scroll wheel LED, as well as a Logo on the top of the mouse, both being blue, with the logo having the ability to be set either on, off or to pulsate.

First look at the box there is a top down picture of the mouse with scroll wheel and razer logo illuminated blue, with 3500dpi infrared sensor printed on the front. On the right hand side we have some specifications comparing it so a regular mouse, on the left side are some details and a message about the mouse. On the back we see yet more specifications and a few features pointed out with a picture.
The front of the box has a book like cardboard page, opening it showing you the mouse inside. Very nice.

Opening the package is straightforward, sliding the entire package out the top of the box, revealing the entire mouse and included accessories. Included is a multilingual quickstart guide, an in depth manual, a razer product catalog showing off and comparing other razer peripherals, a certificate of authenticity (which I find super tacky) and two case badge stickers. This mouse is rather well equipped. Moving onto the mouse itself.

I find this mouse good as a palm, claw and fingertip grip mouse. I can do well playing games like call of duty and battlefield with this mouse, better than with a regular average joe mouse.
I felt no issues with scrolling the cursor around the screen and the mouse wheel works well. Mouse clicks require little force, without being too easy as to accidentally click, the same goes for the scroll wheel.
This mouse has two programmable buttons on the left side of the mouse that I like alot, I use them for the forwards and back buttons on Google chrome.

Ergonomics are nice, fitting my hand well and being easy to use. I never felt discomfort after prolonged use with this mouse. I like the plastic material use on the top of the mouse, I did not however like the glossy plastic used down both sides. I found it got very dirty and sticky with sweat after a short time, and would prefer either a plastic or even rubberized material for the sides.
To make the most of this mouse and it's features you are required to install Razer Synapse, which while it does work, I don't like that it's essential to access all the features of the mouse.

Overall I do like this mouse, even if I don't like the glossy sides. It's nice to use, it's very accurate and the lighting makes it look sharp.
This surely is a mouse to consider adding to your gaming arsenal, to help make you a better player in those competitive games.

ProsCons
Ergonomics, Quality sleeved cable, Lighting. Glossy sides.
