I am not sure if it's just my luck with Samsung or what...
?
I own seven or eight dvd burners/players (including standalone)... they all either fail to work or malfunctioned after a few months of moderate/normal use.
?
I got two units of this model in January 2010 from TigerDirect for $30 each (kinda like a rip off price)... and I removed them right after I got two ASUS 24X DVD burners from NCIX for $15 each. (Bargains)
?
Anyways, all of the Samsung DVD drives worked fine initially... and they become malfunction after a few months of use, and upgrading firmware won't help either.
?
I use Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone, overall great phone (except for the battery life part), and I would recommend others for their phones/tablets/TV/monitors, but I would never recommend others for their optical drives.
Lite-on and these also have their button fail after few months. My ASUS has never had this issue. Long live ASUS. Review is spot on!
