Perfect fan controler for my needs, runs 4 fans or more 1amp 12w per channel

review by ryan w

Features are a plus black gloss/chrome trim faceplate, LCD display with RPM + temp sensor. Temp sensors must be routed to hardware making for lots of wires but they work fairly accurately. I have run up to 8 fans on this controller using y cables purchased separately well staying under the 1 amp per channel rating as most of my fans only pull 0.15 to 0.30 amps.

only CONS is temp sensors can break after removal Scythe dose provide extra, suggest they send more electronic adhesive tape, directions are minimal

Manufacturers Specs:

Precious aluminum design:
High-quality materials were used when producing the Kaze Master Ace. The front consists of brushed aluminum and accentuates the blue illuminated VFD display in an optimal way.

Fan control and temperature monitoring:
With the Kaze Master Ace, four fans can be controlled independently, and four temperatures (in either ? C or ?F) can be monitored. An integrated acoustic alarm function (which can be deactivated by a jumper) warns the user from overheating and failure of a fan.

Wide range of fan controller:
The fan voltage can be independently controlled from 3.7 - 12 V, in addition, the fan can be switched off completely which allows the user to choose between high and ultra-cooling operation.

DC Input 5 V or 12 V (From PC Power Supply Unit)
Fan Adjustment Range 3,7 V (?10%) ~ 12 V (?10%)
Fan Channel 4
Maximum Fan Ampere per Channel 1 Ampere (= 12 W max.)
Fan Speed Range 0 ~ 9990 RPM (Display: 30 RPM steps)
Temperature Module Channel 4
Temperature Range 0 ~ 100?C / 32 ~ 199,9?F
Measurement Frequency Every 2 Seconds

ProsCons
Black/Chrome trim facepalte, LCD display w/ RPM +temp, 4 controlsthe fit in a 3.5 in" bay is snug, w/o full length sides mounting can be difficult

Pretty decent

I bought this controller so that I could see what all the fans I own were spinning at.

I currently have two NZXT 200mm fans connected to it as well as the two fans from the Corsair H80. This thing does a great job of controlling any fan I have been able to connect to it. I even tried a 300mm fan that I had leftover from an old Aerocool case and it worked! So clearly it can handle a lot.

The design is sleek and blends in on my case. The number display is bright and easy to monitor during the daytime. I compared the temp sensors with another meter I used and it was only off by a degree or two. The temp sensor connectors are separate from the fan connectors, so you can just pull them out to keep it clean if you're not going to use them.

The only troubles I have with this, is the fan connectors can fall out very easily from the controller panel and set off the battery. I also didn't like how the battery goes off whenever you turn a fan off. I believe it does that so if you have a fan that isn't working, it will beep and tell you. Which is a good feature, but I just took out the battery because sometimes I turn some of the fans off.

This has been a very reliable fan controller, so I give it a 5/5.

ProsCons
Clean and still workingBeeper goes off a lot

Just a word of advice- don't try and daisy chain fans together and attach them on. I burned my fan controller out by hooking up 2 yate loons medium speed fans on both channel 1 and 2 and single nzxt fans on 3 and 4. It immediately burned out when I started my computer and doesn't work anymore. For single fans on each channel though, this thing is amazing. I used to have my Delta 38mm server fan running on it to turn down the jet engine.
