Sennheiser HD 518 Headphones
Pros: Build Quality, Sound, Comfort, Looks, Great cable
Cons: Mild Bass
Introduction:
I've been using these headphones for about a month now, so I figured it's about time to review them!
Review:
About a month ago I was in the market for some affordable, Audiophile quality headphones. It was a close call between the HD 558's and the 518's, but I ended up saving $50.00 and going for the latter.
These headphones are extremely comfortable, and fit nice and snug over your ears, typically I forget I'm even wearing them.
The sound stage given by these headphones is great, and they sound great with all frequencies. Because these are "open back" headphones, the sound it alot more natural, and you can still hear what's happening around you, and alot of the sound leaks out (which isn't always a good thing.)
It would be nice if there was more bass given by these headphones, that was the only con I could find.
The cord is long, durable and nice and maneuverable.
I found these to be great for Movies, Music and Gaming. Movies were full of life, and music quality was excellent. I was able to hear people walking, and where sound was coming from in games.
Conclusion:
For the price, these are great headphones, as long as you have a sound card to really let them thrive.
