Synology DS713+ (NAS)

review by easynator

This NAS works like a charm. I'm really happy with all the features it provides.

You don't only buy a high quality product, you also buy the peace of mind of something that will work and will be reliable. I mainly bought this NAS because I wanted to be the master piece of my home media network. I wanted to

I was really happy with the Plex Media Server (PMS) and Amazon Glacier Backup packages. I will probably buy a set of IP camera and use the Surveillance Station package. The Free DNS is also a good feature that allows you to remotely connect to your NAS.

The DiskStation Manager (DSM) is the OS. In fact, it's your control panel where you can enable/disable many parameters.

The main concern is that it is expensive but it's really worth it. It is also possible to extend the storage with the Synology Unit DX513 but you need to cash down another thousand (including the disk of course). I will eventually buy the extension unit.

Synology DSM 5.0

ProsCons
Good quality build, Awesome add-ons, Remote accesExpensive
