For Mini-ITX users wishing to use a dedicated GPU, this is a must buy. To sweeten the deal, the provided TY-141/147 fan is in practical situations completely inaudible.
The X-Silent series is ultimately quieter (sacrificing CFM), but that doesn't matter because the noise floor of any normal apartment is going to render both fans impossible to notice.
During winter, my load temperatures for a stock i5 3570 in a Bitfenix Prodigy without case fans were around 59?C at 20?C ambient. The fan is barely audible in a completely passive system, when RPM goes past 700-800. During light load, the fan remains under that and as such, is inaudible. If your case can fit it, I couldn't even recommend any other CPU tower for a silencer.
Pros
Cons
Way cooler than stock Intel, inaudible even under light load, asymmetric
Agreed! The Macho definitely requires three or four practiced hands to be installed quickly and smoothly! Good performance, though.
