Windows 7 on new computer

review by bobdabuilder

Other than the help being pretty much useless, this OS has been extremely pleasing to operate. I disliked the setup of the running programs at the bottom, mainly due to me being so used to the classic setup. However, once I started to use 7 more, I felt more comfortable, and realized how much better this setup is for multitasking. (Just hover the mouse and see all the open items for that program) Most of the main controls were in their "traditional" places (thank you microsoft), and I have been pleased with the ease in which I am able to find my files and keep things organized. Good reliable hardware recognition gives me confidence to go out and buy new things for my computer. Learning to get used to the stacked setup of the items in the pinned menu has helped and I am pleased I was not stubborn enough to track down an old vista copy. Also has a nice clean look to it, Vista went away from the basic look, but seemed like it had kinda cheap and pointless graphics. 7 seems more professional and well put together by a team of pros who care about the aesthetic feelings of their customers, while maintaining the functionality of the OS. (still not xp but it is usable...barely
