Pros: Price, High flow, Fits very large compression fittings
Cons: Availability of mounting accessories
When I was shopping for my first waterblock, I wanted to make sure i got pretty good quality at a good price. The RASA exceeded my expectations in both quality and price.
The waterblock itself is pretty simple. Black Acetal with a copper base, black mounting bracket (comes AMD or Intel) held to the water block by 4 alan bolts (specific alan wrench included), and etched into the block is "XSPC" and "IN" and "OUT" above the appropriate flow hole. The mounting brackets are designed to fit nearly any CPU socket (of the brand you choose) which makes mounting it to the mother board a breeze.
Installation is very simple. the waterblock does not come with a CPU back plate but you are provided with all the accessories needed to mount without one. It does come with barb fittings (3/8" or 1/2") and does fit 3/4" OD compression fittings (I have not tested this personally, but others have and posted pictures) but the fit is tight.
For overall performance, I cannot personally say that the RASA out performs other waterblocks but others have done the tests and the RASA does perform among some of the better waterblocks.
The only con i can think of is the availability of mounting accessories. I bought the waterblock with an AMD mounting plate and now that I want to move it to an Intel platform, I cant find any Intel mounting accessories.....The AMD ones are sold by themselves but not the Intel. This is probably somthing that I should have paid attention to (so I do not deduct from the product itself), but it is inconvenient.
Overall, this is a great CPU block. Even better, the price has dropped some since i bought it making it a better purchase.
Final Thought: I know that most will get this water block as a part of the RASA WC kit (which is a great value as well) but I wanted to review the block by itself (since i did get it that way)
