I bought this cooler at Microcenter at the time of my 1100T purchase. It cost me $40, but it was worth it. I came home right away and unboxed this gigantic cpu cooler. My Diablotek case is 3cm away from the top of the heatsink. The cooler idles my 3.8 GHz 1100T at 23*C and it loads at 43*C. Note: My ambient temperature is 21*C and I have removed the RPM limiter. It comes with one fan, 2 fan support brackets if you desire to add another fan, AMD and Intel backplates, RPM limiter, and Zalman thermal compound. Even at 1300 RPM, you will not hear a single noise from the cooler.
Well lets see... I was using HT and 1.35v (1.32v IMC) on an i7 860. With a delta on this thing, I never broke past 60c (extremely high ambients, I live in a desert) even on IBT. With just the single fan, first it was super silent, then it probably never shot past 75c at all, which is insane for the kind of voltage I was applying, all while staying silent. I never had a single problem overclocking with this, and by any reviews standards it kills the Crapper Master Hypo 212 negative to the ground. That is hyper piece of garbage. This little gem though not very well known should have the same fame. At one time it was extremely cheap (considering it gave better performance for $5 more than any of its competition). Now that throne is to be bestowed upon the Thermalright Macho HR02 for $40. That is insane. But that was released in 2011 and mid year. For the better part of 2010, the Performa was and in my heart will always be king.
Pros
Cons
Everything. Great cooling, easy installation, isn't huge, fan is silent but effective, doesn't block ram
Could have even more for less but I'm not complaining
how does this thing compare to the macho as far as temps? I've had this on my short list of coolers for a while, along with the macho and the true spirit 140. I've got a thread about it here, and any input is welcome.
