Pros: shape, side buttons, cable, feet

Cons: stiff buttons, scroll wheel

First of all, I'm not gonna add pictures, because I'm pretty sure everyone who is reading this review knows how this mouse looks like. I have the BenQ version (fully black, red logo). I've previously owned one from the first batch with the white logo as well. And I've had many more Zowie mice in the past.

So, here we go.

Shape
I've used and reviewed quite a lot of mice already, but there's none that can match the comfort level the ZA12 gives me. Maybe the ZA11 and the ZA13 could be in this area, but the ZA12 is just perfect for me. Of course shape and grip style is totally intuitive and you shouldn't take my word for it - everyone has different preferences, what suits me may not at all suit you.
My hands are 18.5 x 9 cm, and my grip style is somewhere between palm and fingertip I think.

Sensor
I have absolutely no problems with the 3310 when it comes with a good firmware, and sure Zowie knows how to make them. The sensor in the ZA12 has never ever failed me. Never. No spinouts, no random tracking losses, no jittering, no noticable input lag. But it's still not a 3360, so yeah... time to upgrade the sensor, dear Zowie!

Buttons
Tactile? Yes. Hard as hell to press? Yes. Why? I don't know. Many people prefer this, I don't. Even with Omron D2F-01F's soldered in, it's still really stiff, and that's because of the shell. Separate them buttons from the shell already!
The side buttons are great on this one really, just perfect acutation force, no pre-travel, no rattle.
Zowie scroll wheels are like Marmite, you either love them or hate them. I loved them until I started using a G403 for a while. Since then... meh. And the one on this particular mouse rattles like crazy.
6/10

Cable
The best stock cable after Razer DeathAdder 3Gv2. Could be just a bit more flexible.
9/10

Feet
I'm allergic to high friction mousefeet, but Zowie makes one of the best stock feet out there for sure. They tend to wear out rather quickly though. Anyways, I'm using custom PTFE feet on all my mice, so this one has them as well. But I've used stock Zowie feet for a rather long time and had no problems with them, besides the wearing.
8/10

Software
None, nuff said.
10/10

Conclusion
I'm pretty sure I won't ever be able to find a mouse as comfy as this. If only the clicks would be lighter!
