I have a perc 5i card, and first my mobo not boot.

I have got a message if i don't put the RAM on the card.

The pin 5 and 6 is now covered.

The mobo boot, but i have not the message to enter in the card bios. (ctrl C....)

My card is reconized as LSI card sas 3000 but with "code 10".

Impossible to flash the card.

My card is faulty ?

I buy à another card (perc 5 ir).

Excuse my for my english, but i'am french.

Thanks you for your help.

Is your motherbard BIOS updated? Also, Do you have another PC to use (preferably an AMD chipset) and flash the PERC? I doubt it is the card itself.

Are you sure that you are using it in a x4 PCIe slot or higher? From your maximum values and the graph, I don't see you breaking about 250MB/s. This is the bandwidth of a x1 PCIe slot. It could just be coincidence but you may want to make sure. What is the maximum read speed of a single HD?

Interesting. I just swapped my ARC-1220 for the Perc 5/i on my 4xSSD system and writes were considerably lower. Maybe I'll reattach the BBU and test again.

Well I attached the BBU and didn't notice any increase in write speeds according to ATTO. They were actually quite disappointing compared to the ARC-1220. Although I was tying with a 256k block size. Will try with a 128 now.

Hey fellas I have a pretty simple question... In the BIOS how should I set up a RAID0 array using SSD's? I mean should I enable WB, and what about Read Priority? I know I should have 128 stripe, but what about the three check boxes of the bottom of the advanced settings area? Thanks for the help.

Correct. This utility is included when you download a flash ROM update from Intel. Just boot to DOS and run the program with the appropriate switch (I don't remember what it was; but the program will list them anyway). Reboot and you're done. It's pretty simple; the hardest part is creating a boot disk when you don't have a floppy...

If I recall correctly, the desktop NICs have boot ROM and WOL enabled by default while the server cards have both disabled.

I disabled Boot ROM and WOL... and mobo still won't POST.

I then disabled Setup Menu, Initial Title Message, Changing the Boot Protocol Option, Changing the Boot Order Option, Control-S Setup Menu message, and added the 5s delay (which is everything)... and mobo still won't POST.

I then did the SMBus pin mod.... and mobo POSTed! The OS recognized and installed the drivers for the card as well!

I went back to disabled Boot ROM and WOL while keeping the SMBus pin mod.... mobo boots but OS doesn't see the card.

Still working to see which switch allows the card to be properly used.

Oh this is on a PRO 1000/PT.
