Now THAT is more like what I was expecting!

Awesome results.

Makes note... must bench my rather full raid5 array at some point.

In any case the system Specs are

Q6600
MB: P5Q-Pro
4GB RAM
3 640GB Spinpoint drives for Raid
Vista SP1 x64
That would definately cause an issue on a 5/i. On the 6/i, it doesnt matter how you reconnect them, which is kinda nice.

No, I don't think they will. These are meant to be used on Silicon Image or compatible. But they will work with SAS Fanout/Edge Expanders which are basically a lot like port multipliers but better. But they are also a lot more expensive.

Quick question, just got mine today, slapped it into my second PCIe x16 slot. Windows saw it, however I do not see it during boot up or in the bios. Now, I have not connected any drives, but I would have thought it would have some sort of screen during the boot up to access. Also, Windows install failed, I am assuming I just need to install the drivers, but I am more concerned about the boot up issue.
Thanks,

Thanks,
If you're running the Raid0 (and I suspect you will be) on the ICH10R... I had the same problem, and gave up in the end... moved my O/S drives across to the perc and abandoned the ICHxR chipset.

Solved all my issues

So, what? I need to turn off the ICH10 controller for the bios to see it?

Ok, so I reseated the card and it is coming up, it did give me an error about the battery, but when I rebooted after going in the menu I did not get that error again, so I assume it just need to charge.

So now I need to install the drivers in Windows and see if that fixes that issue. Should I flash it to the LSI bios before installing the driver or should I even bother with the LSI flash?

Ok, so the system says it has the latest driver, but it still cannot start the card. Hmmm, can I flash to the LSI bios without it actually working in windows? I think I will try.
