why do you want the chart to be downward?
Would you post just your config again?

The chart should be downward sloping because hard drive platters are round. The outer edge of the hard drive performs better than the inner. The edge of the platter moves faster than the inner part so the head can locate data faster.

All tests start from the outer and move inward (hence the downward performance slop). If it is a flatline with HDDs, then there's a bottleneck.

Default Windows 7 x64 Drivers

Hi,

I got my Perc 5i last week and I love it ... I actually have a 2 TB volume consisting of 5 x 500 GB mismatched HDD, I have decent performance and I'm happy with it for now...

I had to make the SMBus modification, because I have a X48 chipset. I have flashed with LSI latest firmware, and the speed got improved a lot and I'm using the LSI drivers and MegaRAID utility, I had to modify the driver for it to accept to install.

I tried to install Windows 7 (on a different HDD connected to the Intel x48 chipset) The installation does detect the card, but it's not working I get a yellow "!" on that device in the device manager. I tried to install an other driver, but Windows keep saying that it find that my driver is already up to date.

Can you please share how you guys made the controller work under Windows 7. Remember I have the x64 version, I didn't tried the x86 though.

Note: This thread is awesome.

I used to design and manufacture electronic systems. I was wondering if anyone knows the pinout on the battery connector or the signals used for it. I was thinking of a way to make my own battery, as I have so many Li-Ion/NiMh/NiCd batteries at home collecting dust, there is no sense buying one when I can make my own charger and hook it up direct to the card.

Maybe there is a technical resource where I can look at a schematic or design reference? I am sure it is not freely available.

Hey guys I am looking to build a home server using a PERC 5i or 6i under raid5 (3x1T drives) and was wondering what sort of power these cards draw?
