OK, I've sucessfully gone back to the Dell firmware.

Does anyone know how to force particular drivers? I want to use the LSI drivers, but my computer installed the dell drivers. I have the LSI drivers, but my comptuer says: "You already have the most up to date drivers". I've tried manual and automatic installation.

The LSI drivers will enable me to use the Megaraid software.

Help please.

I am using Dell drivers and I am able to use MegaRaid...

When you say that MegaRaid "doesn't do anything" and "cant find the card/array", does that mean that you were able to connect to your local machine using your local IP address and authenticate using your windows username/password? Sometimes its easy to overlook that part especially if your machine doesn't show up in the list of found hosts...

Hi there, thanks for responding.

When I open MegaRaid, it takes a while to open, but the front screen is all blank. There is the option to change IP/Operating System/third option.

But the rest is blank except for a connect to server button down the bottom.

I presume from a few screen shots I've seen that there should be details on that front page.

Rand AlThor.
There should be, but sometimes the data is blocked. Its happened to me before.

Easiest way around it is to

a)try uninstalling and reinstalling megaraid. sometimes this clears it up.

or

b)connect to your local machine's IP address, or connect to 127.0.0.1 (localhost) using your windows username and password when prompted.

Sounds like you have the non-RAID5 capable SAS 6i/R. Does the card have a heatsink? If not you don't have a PERC.

E2K-UCS-61 MODEL UCS-61 brings up this spec sheet
EDIT: get in touch with the seller and explain that it is not a PERC6 card and you would like to return it as it is not as described if that doesnt work then raise a complaint with ebay and paypal if you bought it on ebay and used paypal

if it was sold to you as "PERC 6/i" - you were cheated - because there are two cards:
PERC 6/i - RAID card with RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 support
SAS 6/iR - with only RAID 0/1 support

PERC 6/i

SAS 6/iR
