No need to flash the Perc6/i to LSI.

I'm pretty sure this will work with the 5/i too.

Drivers & Software Under XP

The (dell) drivers for the device installed automaticly. Unfortunately the Dell raid manager software does not run under XP.

After some googling I've found a solution.

Get the LSI Megaraid drivers for the LSI 8408E

Edit the OEMsetup.txt
Find the line starting with "XP INSTALL SECTION"
Insert:
Code:
MEGASAS = "PCIVEN_1000&DEV_0060&SUBSYS_1F0B1028", "megasas"
Install the driver listed as "RAID 5/6 sas based on LSI Magaraid"

Then download the "Raid storage manager" from the same link.

Jobbed.

Perc 5/i - dfi lanparty nf4 ultra D Pci-e lane 8x 8x sli mode solved by modding board chipset to nf4 SLI. After modding perc 5/i is working perfectly at 8X on first slot PC-e 16x and video card working perfectly in 2nd slot pci-e 8x.
Only an issue on rebooting.
Perc is not recognized when reboot. Solve problem always powering off pc.

Firmware .60 doesn't let the system to recognize PERC on soft boot, use FW .51

Hi there,

I want to use GPT for my 3 TB Raid 5 as for XP Pro 32bit wonŽt be able to use it >2TB. XP Pro 32 bit wonŽt work so IŽll have to use Vista, because I do not have Server 2003 or 2008.

I flashed my Perc 5 to the latest LSI firmware.

Now my question: Which drivers can I use? The 64 bit signed LSI drivers wonŽt recognize it. I will have to modd them. But will it work, because the modding of the oemtxt.inf will destroy the signed status, right?!

An which Version of Vista 32bit or 64 bit? I saw that all versions of Vista re able to use GPT, but are 32bit Versions safe to do this?

Is there another solutiion, please help me.

Guys my BBU warning keeps coming up even tho the battery is plugged in, why is this?

Also, why does booting up take so long on the RAID card? It spends like 2 minutes to initialize then I can ESC through the rest of the garbage

Make sure its plugged in well. I had the same problem and had to replace with a new battery, it warned me the first boot with the new battery then it went away with subsequent reboots.
