Default DVD-rom on SATA card

I was wondering, as I only have 6 sata slots on my mobo I need more ports.

Soon all 6 will be filled by HDDs and I need 2 extra for 2x DVD optical drives.

Is there any PCI/PCI-e cards that has atleast 2x SATA and support optical drives that don't cost me a arm and a leg?

Thanks

Edit: Nevermind, I just realized you are in Norway. See if you can find the same card at a retailer in your country...

This PCI-E card seems to work, and is only $20.99:
MASSCOOL PCI-e 4 port SATA2 (SIL3132 Chip) Model XWT-PCIE10

Here is a review claiming it works with his SATA DVD drive:
Other reviewers stated that this card would only work in RAID, and would not work with an optical drive. This is not so. I am able to boot and install Vista from my DVDRW connected to this card as though it were the integrated controller.

Why not put the optical drives on the onboard ports, and not worry about compatibility?

Thank you. UK retailers would be fine aswell.

Didn't find that one tough.

Won't trust my HDDs on cheap-o Raid controller.. and won't pay for a high end raid card either.

None of the cheap cards I own will work with optical drives. Neither with the 2nd on-board controller on my P6T Deluxe, for that matter.

The Silicon Image chipsets on many of the cheap cards are often found providing the extra ports on many mobos. If you buy a reasonable quality cheap card there is no reason not to use a HDD on it. I would not use it with any RAID firmware, but most cards are re-flashable with JBOD firmware from SI themselves.

You will struggle to find ANY card that will reliably support an optical drive at all, and that includes expensive ones. Having one to fully support a BluRay or a DVD burner, will be even harder.

Okay, I think I found something.

ADVANCE PCI-ST101 PCI Controller Card - 3 SATA ports + 1 IDE port

Quote:
The PCI-ST101 controller card from Advance connects your SATA and IDE external devices (hard drives, DVD players, etc) to your computer configuration.
It is SATA I- and II-compatible and comes with a SATA cable as well as an external port to accommodate your SATA hard drive.
Do you guys think it will work with DVD drives? I can't see the chip name, only that it is VIA.

Linky.

I seriously doubt it. Very little information provided, not manufactured by a reputable name with their own site for additional support.
