hmmmm, what core is that p4 2.4 cpu? does it have hyper threading? i have a pc with a celeron d 2.8ghz (prescott, 533/256KB), would i see an improvement?

You certainly would, especially if you OC it at the same clock. Celerons are pretty junky because of the very small cache...
