So here is my problem. I'm leaving to Europe for 2 weeks and i need to keep my main box running because it's running my squid server which will allow me to SSL into my network because i refuse to use open wifi and get sniffed. So what can i do do drop the power of my box to near nothing?
I will drop my clocks down to stock i can turn off some HDD's Take out the 6 pin to my gfx card what else can i do? Is it ok to take out gfx card power? What are my options?

Underclocking. I'm not sure if the GTS will run in a reduced mode without the power connector or just not run at all, all you can do is try. Your CPU can be underclocked dramatically and if you can, the GPU as well. You could just set the HDs to power down when not in use.

Underclock your CPU to say 600mhz or so if you can.
Do you have a crappy backup video card?

That will turn off the PC, I say just unplug everything, extra hard drives, disc drives, leave only one stick of RAM, underclock the CPU, remove any PCI cards, unplug USB devices like your mouse and keyboard because even those require a bit of power.

I have accidently forgotten to put in the graphics power a few times. PC ran fine, just refused to run any 3d apps.

I kinda figured it wouldn't help to unplug it. It will just force it into 2d mode, which is what it would be doing anyway if it was idling.

OT: If the PC won't be being used, and is just a server, you could just remove the gfx card entirely. Folders do it all the time.
