Default How to find out what type of RAID your using??

So I have been waiting all week to finally get these parts swapped out from this XEON Server and I ran into a big problem.

I was trying to re format the drives and Windows does not detect any drives as all?!?!

I contacted my Friend (Now a Ex Friend) who sold me this server to ask him for the support disks, And he does not have any, So he says I'll have to figure it out.

I asked for my money back, And I was told to shove it.
So Now I have this server with Four Drives that I can't use.

I originally wanted to swap out my E6400 for the XEON 3070 and put it all in this nice big case. But I wanted to Re format the Drives before taking the server Apart.

It is a ASUS P5M2-M Mobo, So can anyone help me unlock these drives so I can use them?

Here is a Link to the MOBO spec sheet,
http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-ASUS-Asu...7-2-x-PCI-E-x8

Please, Can someone help me? The server has a Floppy drive if that will help the situation out.

Lesson learned, Don't just buy stuff from people without making sure it works, Or it has all the stuff you need to run it.

Have you tried taking out the drives and putting them into another PC and format ? Or tried with a linux CD.

I only have my other Sig Rig for which I want to use two of these drives in once I can format them.
I found the Manual for the Server MOBO, But I need someone to please help me find out how to turn the Drives From RAID to a Regular Format.

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...-m_content.pdf
BTW, This server case has four slots on the front so you can just slide the drives out. If I were to take a drive out of the Slide Bracket and hook it up inside the case would that change anything?
Above is the Link to the Manual, I looked through it, But I don't even know what I should be looking for.
This is soo confusing.
There has to be someone who knows how to change the settings on these drives so I can use them.
Thanx

The link you provided seems to freeze every time I click on it.Anyway are you able to boot up the server ? If so look into bios I sure there is a way to stop the raid configuration there. And I would just try out what your thinking(changing the hdd location). GL reezin

Thats pretty much what I did.

I ran into this problem before when I swapped HDDs, and didnt break the RAID 0 on the previous ones until then new RAID was up and running. Then I decided to format the HDDs and couldnt. So all I did was Download the G-Parted Live CD, delete the existing partition to make it a unformatted drive, then uused XP to format with NTFS. after that, the drives where fine.

Is that the right App to use?
and can you please give me a simple set of instruction to follow to break the RAID config the Drives are currently under?
And here is a Link to ASUS website to read the Manual, Just click on the 'All OS P5M2-M series Manual English Edition Rev1.0 E2776, Then you should be able to read it. And I did check to see which jumper the RAID jumper is on, It is on the Default Jumper. So hopefully that can help someone help me.
thanx again to all who are helping me

That is the right app.

EDIT:I don't know why but the manual keeps freezing on me,but I did get to take a look at the table of contents. Go to section 5.3.7 DELETING RAID CONFIGURATION ,you should be able to find something there.

I remember having to choose advanced options, then choosing the 768x1064 resolution. Finally, make sureyou choose the versa video. If not, the program will not load.

Once it does, open the partition utility and just delete the partition and format it as a raw unformatted partition.

The put in a Windows XP disk and run the install utility and let it partition the drive, then when it goes to reboot, leave it off.

5.3.6 Deleting a RAID configuration
To delete a RAID configuration:
1. From the Management Menu, select Configure > Clear Configuration, then press <Enter>.
2. When prompted, press the <SpaceBar> to select Yes from the Clear Configuration? dialog box, then press <Enter>.
The utility clears the current array.
3. Press any key to continue.

That is a copy of the Chapter you said to look at. So I need to get this RAID configuration utility up and running first.
Any Ideas?
