Cant join anything when my CS:S Dedicated server is up.

Cant join anything when my CS:S Dedicated server is up.
Ok, so I just got done setting up a CS:S Dedicated server. I try to join it, and it's stuck on connecting to server, I try to join another server and the same thing happens. I can't join anything when I have the server up, but when I shut the server down, I can join any game perfectly fine.
Any ideas?

Its not a good idea to both host a game server and play on it if your on the same computer.
__________________Its probably why it wont let you connect. Or you could be needing an internal ip instead of your external

I thought that was why it's called a dedicated server, because the game is dedicated to running a server and nothing else. What if you run a second instance of the game?

I'm running my server in a console. I've joined and played on my dedicated servers before though. It says I need a newer version, and my Updater is crashing
