Personally, I think raid is too much trouble. Especially with 4 drives. If anything I'd go for a middle of the road approach and do 2x 500gb.

yeah 1TB already bought and i have 4 x 320gb drives still so cant do that.

Anyways i've just realized about raid software and hardware

my mobo is a MSI k8n neo4 platinum. It says it "can" run raid 5 but i think its in software mode and some other crap about silicon sata i think... i dunno anyone know about this mobo can help me?

Also learned that the EP45-DS3L (that would be the "new computer") doesnt have raid capabilities so thats out for raid since raid controllers cost 150+

also does teh EP45-UD3R support raid-5 in hardware mode or just software?
