I was debating about where I should post this.. but I suppose if any use I may get out of these it may be some sort of server.
__________________I have a collection of pentium class computers that are collecting dust in my basement. Most in which I think have no practical use for today. I may be wrong though.. Here’s my list 486/DX2 66mhz Pentium 100mhz Pentium 200mhz Pentium II 400mhz AMD K6 300mhz All have 32mb+ Ram. Any ideas?

Install pfsense which makes your computer a router. You will need two NIC.

you could make one of them a dedicated weather/traffic station. I did that with an old k6.

Throw a PCI SATA card in there (if the motherboard would support it), and turn it into a fileserver. Or, get a HDD that is IDE (?) and throw a Linux distro on it CLI. Then use that to host DHCP and DNS (and maybe even HTTP) on your network.

Keep one as a file server and donate the rest to a local library or youth center for them to use for web surfing and such.

I like using old computer fans, wiring them to a USB connector, and making a USB powered desk fan.
