Default don't ppl love isp that block incoming traffic!!!!

**** is all i gotta say....stupid comcast is totally blocking my ports on my computer...i have like all the ports my services using singleport forwarded to my static ip for my ubuntu 9.04 server...and like two days ago i was using it just okay....

next thing i know two days later with the same configurations and ports 2222, 2121, 8080 all open on both server and router side are being blocked....and then i tried to find an open port by just opening all on server side and port ranged forward all my ports to find open ones on my isp side and i hardly found any....

this is really discouraging since i just have a dedicated home server for my college project...where i am just hosting for my open project.....

thank you comcast for totally limiting ppl's internet....

i cannot wait till ppl sue u for it...i cannot wait to get a different isp for my server...

I can hardly understand what you're trying to say because it's written like it's from a fifth grader.

Please take the time to correct your spelling and type properly so that it's easier to understand and people will take what you're saying more seriously.

Also, this is pretty much nothing but a rant, so next time try posting in the proper section.

And, you should definitely read the ToS, since that could really help a lot from seeing posts like this.

Now, to be 100% on topic:

Comcast doesn't block any of my ports. I have 100% control over what goes on with my connection, and I know every single person I've ever talked to has not had the problem you're saying, so I find it very immature for you to automatically begin blaming Comcast.

Also, if you really dislike Comcast, and what you're saying is really happening, then why don't you drop them as your ISP?

I really cannot stand the fact that so many people whine and complain about Comcast, yet they don't switch providers. There are numerous providers, and the next best one that I can think of is AT&T.

For some reason, I feel it's something to do with YOUR router. So, either try getting a new router, or flash your router with DD-WRT and see if that helps any. I can't say it will, as I don't really know, but I've always had DD-WRT with Comcast and everyone I know has as well and I've never heard of Comcast blocking your ports. All I've ever heard of is them throttling, and that ended months ago from my understanding as I get 1MB/sec download, and about 100KB/sec upload, with all my ports open.

Not very hard.

Back when I had Cox as my ISP, they blocked all outgoing SMTP mail. I could only use web-based email (which I despise).

yet just another user error, not isp error.

i deal quite frequently with cox on a day to day basis and have never had an issues setting up cox pop3/smtp traffic. the hardest thing is getting the customer to remember their password.

so true.

now back on topic. have you tried to call comcast to resolve this problem? i know that here in australia i have no issues with hosting my server(s) and i can do whatever i wish with my connection, if i have any problems i just call them and ask "hey whats going on", they look in their logs and tell me what the technicians have left in my user logs.

if comcast say that they havn't blocked any ports than this is all your fault so stop whining like a little girl who dropped her lolly pop, but if comcast do say that they blocked your ports than ask why, if your kind enough and explain your situation I'm sure they would unblock any blocked ports if they did block some ports, if the problem is unresolvable than go for another ISP.
