So I installed Windows Home Server yesterday, and I must have been really tired because apparently the password I used isn't working. Haha.

Anyone have any ideas on how to reset it. I can't log into the Administrator account. I don't really feel like busting out my password cracker either because I believe that it doesn't work on Home File Server.

If it was a fresh install, could you not just reinstall?

Run OPHcrack liveCD on in? That is how I do it for my friends' computers. Other than that I have no idea. Get the one for Windows Vista (which will work on win7). That may do it.

Just burn the ISO to a disc,put it in, and let it run. After that it does all the work for you. After a little while I will give you a list of users and their passwords. Just find the one that is yours. Write it down and your good to go.


Sorry I am not of much help. I got little experience with server versions of windows.

I know hirens cd is a great boot tool and all, but, it contains several copyrighted program and the only viable way to obtain it is through methods of piracy short of making it yourself if you have the programs. So, could we not talk about Hirens CD anymore. I don't want my thread to be locked.

I believe NT password should work. Just burn the ISO to disk using your laptop or auxillary PC, and pop it in, change password, you're done. :P
