Default A few simple server questions

I am running a P4 3.0ghz 512 Ram and an old 128mb video card I might pop in (depending on what I use it for).
I just installed Windows Server 2003 Enterprise on it and it runs great but I am not able to network it to my Windows 7 computer. Does anyone know a way to do this? (I am fairly familiar with networking but can't find any info online).
Another question, I think I want to use the server as a web server but I'm not set on that yet (I know how to set one up I did it a while back) but is there anything else I could use it for? The HDD is small (40gb) so I can't really back anything up on there. Any ideas would be appreciated, thank you!

I have windows firewall disabled and use my own, but disabled that to try to get them to network with no success. Windows 7 work group is weird and I can't really find the settings on it (it seems to want to do it automatically)

What do you mean by getting them to network? Are you just trying to have them see each other? And for the workgroup, you change that in the same place you change the name. Right click on my computer and go to properties and it's about half way down.

Thank you BiG, set them to a custom name and now they see eachother! One problem, my server can access my 7 computer fine (turned off required pass) but I cannot access my server (keeps asking for user and pass) how do I set this up?

You set up a local account on the Server, and when you access it from your windows 7 pc. User is ServerName\AccountName, and then you use the password you set up.

There's a way to make it easier.

Run gpedit.msc, and look for the security options on the left pane (it's in one of the folders, you can't miss it). Then in the right pane there should be something like "Allowed to access the computer from the network", and if you open that you can add in your desktop's username in the format above (Computername\AccountName).

Also, do you have a password on your desktop's username? If not you'll also have to set "Allow blank passwords" to get it to work. It should be somewhere in the same folder as the other setting.
