Default Backup automation

Every week, I check the integrity of our servers' backups by restoring a single text file from the bkf. I open the backup utility, find the particular backup file, put a check mark on the file C:\temp\test.txt and restore it to my desktop. Now multiply that by 20 and you see it becomes a long task.

I want to make a script that will automatically restore only that file when run (no autohotkey stuff).

Windows SBS 2003

Thanks and reps for assistance.

AutoIt?

Great, simple to learn & really powerful language that can pretty much automate anything you can do yourself with a keyboard & mouse.

Might take a while to write your code the first time, but after that it should be plain sailing.

How about Second Copy?

You can set it to automatically copy a file from a source to a destination at certain intervals.
It's mainly for ext HDD's but maybe it could work for you too?
Are you downloading the file from a net server, or a local you can access, this will only work for a path you can directly access.

Backup drive attached directly to each respective server.

The backup of the whole drive is stored in a single .bkf file, so I have to use the backup/restore utility to extract the desired file.
Hard drives are local to the servers.
