Default Need a new server

I currently have a normal Q6600 with 8GB Ram and 500GB Sata2 HDD and now i need a more powerfull server as it's not enough because the websites are slowing down and game servers are lossing. I would like now to build a custom build server and as i never built one i would like your help in choosing the parts. I'm going to have Debian, Ubuntu or Centos as my OS(still undecided though as i know how to use them all but don't know what i'm going to use). As an internet connection i'm going to have a 2 connections of 100mb/s each.

CPU:Intel or AMD(don't make any difference but i would like the best as i'm not going to upgrade this server every year ...)
RAM:4 or 8GB
HDD:any

About the price don't worry if it comes a little bit high but not very high then..

All your help is appriciated.

Soo..... what's the budget in numeric form?

Please provide more details on usage pattern.... The RAM, CPU, and/or HD may be the bottleneck depending on the load.

What kind of network connection is avaliable? What's the usage pattern?

Please provide ALL the details and requirements so that we can provide an optimal build the best meets the needs and limitations.

I'm with Duckie. You said there will be 2 connections of 100mb/s each: did you mean for LAN, or is this going in some kind of datacenter with a 2x100mb/s WAN?

What kind of usage is your current server seeing that is saturating a Quad with 8GB of RAM? I would highly suggest running websites and miscellaneous things off a different (budget) server so the dedicated game server can focus its CPU priority on games. Unless this is going to be a rackmount system where space needs to be kept at a minimum, splitting the load seems like a much more cost friendly option.

It will be 2x100mb/s WAN in a data center and i would like to have everything on 1 server since i talked to the data center where the server is going to be and told me that they only want 1 server because of space and it want to be a rack mount server as they are not accepting any more servers like normal pcs.

The game servers are lossing because i want more ram as i have 7.5GB out of 8GB Ram Used and the cpu is running BETWEED 50-90% and somtimes when many servers restart together the cpu goes to 100% and sometimes there will be a servers that crash.

The server is going to host websites, ftp accounts and many types of game servers with control panel(CoD2,4,5,CSS,TF2 and many more). I don't know what any other information i left out(as i'm a hoster i don't know alot about server building).
