Default Swapping out 8I945GMH-RH Motherboard With ASUS P5B-E

In 2006, I bought a Server with a Pentium D 3.0 GHz and a 8I945GMH-RH Motherboard. This server has been working excellent with my PC 4300 Memory. Now, I want to upgrade to 4 GB. I put in PC 6400 Desktop Memory and its only detecting 3.24 GB of Memory, even in the BIOS. I believe that even a 64 bit operating system won't detect this either.

Now, I believe this motherboard isn't a server class motherboard. It does have a good RAID feature, but doesn't support the full 4 GB of Memory.

In one of my barebones desktop, I have an ASUS P5B-E which enables all 4 GB of PC 6400 Memory when I enable Remap and install a 64 bit OS. Only problem is that its a desktop motherboard and I don't know weather my 8I945GMH-RH is a server motherboard.

Here is my question. Should I swap the motherboard with the server and the desktop or should I leave the server alone with the motherboard?

The ASUS P5B-E has been very stable, but I didn't like how a 32 bit operating system only detects 2.93 out of 4 GB of Memory, so I upgraded to a P5Q on my desktop where as now I have 3.25 on my destkop. Instead of wasting my P5B-E, I think utilizing all 4 GB by making it a server and installing 64 bit OS would make more sense.

I am planning to install a Server OS and running a VM for Exchange Server.

What should I do?

EDIT: I have a Linksys EG1032 Desktop Network Adapter in my P5B-E Motherboard. Is this a good server adapter to use? I have a 8 Gigabit Switch.

Just put a x64 OS on your current mobo and it should support 4GB+ of RAM.

Spooooon, it doesn't. I already did that and it only supports 3.24 GB.

I have a P5B-E motherboard, and you need to enable the "Memory remap feature" under the chipset/north bridge configuration options.
