I got two noisy maxtors. samsung doens't seem to be much better. I've read the whole thread, so is it the WD GP series or seagate 7200.11? getting a new comp this month, so I wanna get the most silent hd's this time.

If I could just chime in and say the silicon holders in my P190 case keep my HDD (and most likely any brand) basically DEAD silent when idle, and you can only hear the slighest ticking when on, if you put your head right near them...
