I read the two fan mega roundup :

So at the moment i got 4 Antec TriCool 120MM Case Fan 3-SPEED 1200/1600/2200RPM 25/28/30DBA 39/56/79CFM 3 & 4PINS.

3 in oem postion and 1 in the optional drivebay. At the moment all my 4 fans are running at the medium setting and the temps are good. The noise is ok but i would like to improve it further.

So the objective is to have a pc that is cool (good cfm rating) while keeping it as quiet as possible

I found these fans to be good ones:

These 2 seem superior to me :

I'm planning to use a ZALMAN ZM-MFC1 6 FAN SPEED CONTROLLER 5.25IN W/ 3 PIN EXT. CABLES to control the 4 fans. Will I be able to variate within 5 to 12 volt with this unit?

Or I would be bether using Sunbeam 4 Port Rheobus Fan Controller Kit Black ?

also i'm panning to install an thermalight 120 ultra cpu cooler in the future so which one of these fans would be the better choice .

So tell me what you all think about it and what you've experienced so far in various fan setups with your cases.

The Rheobus is a good way to go. I have the option to juice up my fans, and I love it that way. You can silence virtually any fan as long as you run it at minimum RPMs

I only have 3 fans in the upper chamber. One for the CPU heatsink, one for intake, and one for exhaust. I wouldnt' recommend using the top fan, it doesn't seem to help. I use one low yate loon, and one medium yate loon. Using two medium's was horrendously loud for some reason. The case sounded like a wind tunnel, and I even have sound dampening foam in there too!

In the bottom chamber I don't even use a fan and everything is fine, and quieter.

Sometimes my computer seems loud, other times quiet as hell. Its all a matter of perception. Be sure to thin out the front plastic grilles (http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums...ic.php?t=42020), and get rid of the metal grille too. I don't use filters either but that is your call. Doing these mods should allow you to run your fans slower while maintaining the same airflow.

You should definately use as many fans as possible if you can, there is nothing wrong with too many fans as long as you can control them to silence. Everything might be "fine" with few fans, but things will definately be better if casetemps and component temperatures are low. It will increase the lifetime of your components and keep your system stable at higher clockspeeds.

I helped a friend of mine build his P182 and we ended up ordering 3 120mm fans and a Rheobus, I can probably post pics of it when we are done, but it won't be until a months time when I get home from Singapore and you will probably be done by then

How could I use more fans?

Using the top fan opens a hole straight from the CPU heatsink to your ear, at least in my case placment. I wouldn't want to use that even if it did help, which it doesn't.

The lower chamber I'm hesitant to use because it would be "stealing air" from the upper chamber intake. The front panel only allows so much air in (made evident by lower temps when the door is open) thus I want all the air to be taken into the top chamber.

The only other option would be to put a fan underneath my optical drive but I tested that and it didn't help.

I idle at 28, load at 53, so I think temps are fine. 8800 is < 60

I don't worry about the number of fan, because i will install a fan control to control them individualy so they don't make noise for no use.

Anyone have pros or cons about the fan i want to buy?

i really dont thin it matters which fan you buy from the list you have out of the first post. I have x4 120mm Antec Tri-Cool fans which I think are fine, as well as a 120mm Thermaltake fan that is around 53cfm, and a Silverstone FM121. All of these fans are quiet in my opinion (on low and even medium setting). It all comes down to what you prefer. Not all fans run at their rated specs. For instance 2 months ago I bought a 120mm Thermaltake Thunderblade thinking it would run at its rated 16dB. It ran at morel ike 28dB. With oyur fan controller you can adjust the speeds to your taste so that is really what it comes down to. Any of those fans will get the job done.
