So I decided to give my mom a present, a nice PC, as she is currently on a 2.8Ghz socket 478 system. She types code ALL day yet finds time to photoshop and other mom stuff. So, here is the build:
__________________E6300 @ 1.86 (stock) 2x1GB A-DATA 667Mhz ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA NVIDIA Reference 7650GS Seagate 7200.7 500GB SATA II HD The cooling setup: CPU: Cooler Master Hyper-TX 22db load at stock; Completely undervolted GPU: Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 6 with Thermalright heatsinks Board: Passive Case: 1x120mm 1x80mm Cooler Master fans; Completely undervolted I will also be adding lots of nice cushion foam to the case. The rig is entirely inaudible. The room has to be dead silent and you have to hold your breath before you can hear the hard drive or anything as the fans are the last thing you'll hear. My guess it is around 5-10db of noise total. FOAM IS IN! Thank u Petra's Tech Shop! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() CPU Temps: Idle: ~25C Load: ~45C GPU Temps: Idle ~30C Load: ~40C

The GeForce 7650GS was never officially released, and was limited to a few OEM cards only. This card is seemingly very rare. Performance is speculated to be very similar to the 7600GS. Not much is known about this card, other than that it uses the 80 nm process.
__________________Performance Specs: These specifications are based on a card manufactured by Asus. There might be differences between OEM cards. * Core Clock Speed: 400 MHz core frequency * Memory Clock Speed: 400 MHz (800 MHz effective) * Memory Interface: 128-bit * Memory Bandwidth: 14.5 GB/s * Fill Rate: 5.7 billion pixel/s and 5.7 billion texel/s * Cooling Solution: Passively cooled * Memory Type: DDR-2

sweet, sadly i can see how it wasn't a large success. but should be a good card for the max i can expect a mom to use.

That rig looks really silent, because of the (lack of) fans. Do you have any temps?

Too bad it's already inaudible... I wanted to see some creative use of paxmate and stuff.
Your mom should be pretty happy with that config. Pretty future-proof for somebody who doesn't need lots.

that looks sweet.
What PSU/optical drives is that using? One of the loudest parts of my computer is the amount of air that my Ultra 600w pushes. Can't hear the fans, only the air wooshing through ![]() thats when processor is idle and fan is slow... with AMD's cool and quiet off, I'm starting to hear it a little bit more ![]()
