Hey there, I'm just wondering if I put some foam to silence my comp, will it make my cpu hotter? Thats the only thing holding me back from doing it. I'm worried things will get hotter.

Yes it does cause more heat but matters on what kind of foam you are using. What do you have in mind? For example

Yes. It's like insulation for your case. And it will also reduce the amount of air that will flow over the components inside.

Depends where you put it.

Yeah i always thought it was a strange way of getting a quieter system, essentially it's like insulation and will just keep heat in.

It does insulate, but if you have decent air flow, the temp difference should be very small.

Anyone have links to foam I can get in Canada. I was thinking of going to home depot today and checking out what they have. Any ideas appreciated.
