I have an old lian li case that is pretty loud, so i'm trying to think of cheap way to keep it quiet. Here is a list of what I'd need:
__________________2x 80mm intake 80mm side intake 80mm exhaust 120mm for Expansion hard drive kit shown here 120mm directed at the south-bridge Since harddrives take up all my 5.25 drive space, I'd have to use a 3.5 fan controller. What would you guys recommend?

you can:
-line the case interior with foam -use silicon silencers on the fans to eliminate vibrations -ditch the 80mm fans in favor of quieter 120mm fans (the same goes for the current 120mm ones) On a side note, do you have 4 intake fans and only one exhaust?

So are you thinking that maybe it's time for a new case like p182 lol? I keep trying to talk myself out of it, and make what i have work. The lian li is nice, but not optimal. Any decent 80mm fans to go on the front? I heard the Scythe "SLIP STREAM" 120mm Case Fan" 1200 rpm were good for 120mm.

Honestly, with all those 80mm fans, its never going to be all that quiet. It may just be a better option to grab the P182.
Scythe make great fans, and I'd personally recommend the S-flex series. They are quiet and very well built.

I recommend Noctuas as well. Both the s-flex and noctua are pretty much the same. Since I don't like a case focused on intakes, I would suggest focusing on low cfm intake fans and try and work in a 50+ cfm 120 fan for the rear exhaust. 80mm is the kryptonite to a cool and silent tower.

thanks guys. I went ahead and got a p182 case. I'll probably just keep the p182 at stock for now (too cheap to spend $33 on two fans lol). plus reps!

I very strongly suspect that that is the exact same as this as the box it comes in is the exact same, except for the frozenCPU logo. ALL the other wording on the box is the EXACT same. See this: http://downlink.homeunix.org/worksta.../HPIM0782.html SAVE $7!
