I want to see if I can try and make a FANLESS PC! 0 Fans in the whole thing, including power supply... This should be interesting. I will be using cheap parts in case this project fails miserably.
Items: Pentium III 800MHz 256MB PC133 Samsung RAM L&C DR-A300ATX 300W Peak(Warranty 120% voided) Thermaltake VOLCANO 5 AM1(Minus 80MM fan) ASUS 601AM Standard Mid-size ATX case. Yes I know I am sitting a AM1 heatsink with now fan on a Pentium III with no heat-cream-stuff-forgot-the-word-you-know-what-I-mean. UPDATE ![]() Yes those are my boxers in the background... ![]() PC grave yard... View My Video Yeah i know I'm butt ugly and I sound like a retard... If anything this should give you guys a decent laugh when something happens... Wish me luck! ~B~

Turing Test is Overrated

Fanless PC have been done before successfully. It just depends on component selection.
I believe that processor has a TDP of 20w so it shouldn't be too hard. That PSU sound cheap so it will probably pop or burn out fanless.

The PSU is open as much as possible. It's great PSU been using it with various projects since 2002... Now it's just about dead and why not send it off with style?

Don't care about any of the items being used they have all been freebies or pulls from other systems.

just a thought, but a light color on the paint might be good. absorb less light - less energy - less heat. i realize its probably negligible but with your project every little bit might help.

one last thought and then i'm fresh outta ideas - leave the case flat - not upright. that way the heat from the components goes straight up into the air and doesnt have a chance to affect anything else above it.
