My HD is loud, sometimes its not that bad but then sometimes its like I can't hear myself think, I like to watch movies on my PC and I can hear it in the background.

Some drives prefer soft mounts, is yours soft or solid mount?

It's actually for my old rig's HD which is running caseless. I'm using one of my CM690's 3.5" mounts so I'll probably need soundproof material but I need it relatively cheap which probably doesn't help in my case.

So you're looking for a cheap one of these?
Give me a minute. ![]() This is $19.99, but it's currently out of stock. Who knows, it may get back in stock in a day or two. Edit2: Funny. Same website, same item, different name, different price. Link.

Maximum PC actually gives you a DIY remedy in their July issue. They suggest making your own rubber washers to dampen the sound.

i saw a cool mod where you take like elastic bands and run them through the case over and under the HD, so it keeps it stable and it also makes it so the drive can wiggle if need be
