I just got done putting some grommets on a really noisy case fan that was driving me nuts and its now much quieter. Unfortunately I also have a noisy cpu fan. I know something is wrong with it but havent been able to figure out what. So I was looking to replace it. I can't find any separate CPU fans! Is there any place that has CPU fans by themselves? I dont want to have to buy my cooler all over again just for the fan.

If the cooler is the one is your sig rig, the fan can be controlled with Speedfan.

The AC7 just uses a 92mm fan I believe.

yes but I can't just buy a case fan can I? I'm pretty sure there isnt a way to mount it onto the heatsink. I dont know how to reduce the cpu fan speed through speedfan

You can use any 92mm fan as long as it has standard mounting.

It's easy. Make sure the fan header you plugged it into has 4 pins first. In speedfan, there's a % controle for the fan. It should be the first one. You just type in the % of the fan speed you want it run at.
