Hello. I need some help silencing my PC case. I have a very small fan for the video card and it just makes a lot of noise. I need to silence my case, cheaply because I don't have the money to change the video card yet.
I was thinking of putting sheets of cotton held together with some tape on the side panels... but I'm guessing that would cause the overall themperature of the case to increase. I have airflow in my case (one 80mm fan in the front, blowing on the drives and one beneath the PSU) but is it gonna be enough?

I would get some foam to help with the silencing. as long as u have good airflow through your case you should be fine

Stuff called Flashing tape is said to work well. It can be found at your local hardware store. It could also be labeled as window siding tape.

I read about that flashing tape thing, but the thing is I don't have 20$ to spend on silencing. Maybe I can spend 1 or 2$. $ ain't my national currency
![]() Looked at the link above and it's great, it's just that I don't have that kind of money. So I'm guessing sheets of cotton stuck together with tape is still the way to go. Thanks for your answers, guys!

A towel could dampen noise if you glued it to the walls of your case but I have no idea if that would work just an idea, also I wouldn't recommend gluing it to a nice case that you care about this would be a good grey box mod.

If you want to consider that towel idea you might want to stack a few of them. A towel is pretty think and it's not very good at absorbing vibrations--remember sound is just a vibration.
