WD Caviar Green indeed. At the very least it is my quietest HDD.

The Caviar Greens are excellent as are the Samsung F1 drives, which are much faster running at the full 7200 RPM. I have both 1TB drives in my system, and I can't hear either of them. But aside from the Samsung being faster it also runs the coolest too. My WD AAKS 640GB right now sits at 34C, the Green at 31C, and the Samsung at 26C. Just thought I'd toss another alternative your way for the future in case you come across a good deal as they tend to go on sale very frequently at Newegg and Microcenter.

IMO, i don't ever hear HDD noise.
but the WD greens are fantastic for low power consumption, so lower noise

If you want a realy quiet drive get a Seagate Pipeline 500GB. I've heard those are always under 18db with SPCR's testing. Only a small amount of the green power drives are actually quiet.
