I won't turn off the computer because I will leave it folding.. I could easily go 24 hours without using it but I would keep it running

Well being that less than 5000 people have agreed to participate, I don't think this will have the impact that they're looking for. What would be better is to get everybody to USE their computer at the same time. It would send out a wave of electronic energy so strong that it would blow up Microsoft headquarters.

Another "Lets save the world with an excessive amount of eco-friendliness for only 24 hours instead of doing the right thing all year long because we can't leave our computers on for less than 4 hours a day or read a book instead of watching TV" day.

I definitely could. When I visit my family, I often only use a PC every few days because it's so fun to be with them. Also, in South Florida where I used to live, we would constantly have week-long power outages. We even had a 6-week outage once (I don't use generators, so no PC for me) and then the cable AND phone didn't work for another five weeks. So, no Internet for me for 2 and 1/2 months. Boring, but I got used to it. And I'm not going to do it because I really don't see the point, and because I just don't feel like it.

This is over a month away, and it's been open for about 5 days. Yesterday I was around the 2900th person, and I looked again later that night and it was at 3800. It's growing, and fast.

I would do it if it was just for my home computer since I do way too much video editing at school to not be using a computer. It'd be an interesting challenge though.

i use my computer as my clock....if i turn the computer off how will i know when its time to turn it on again?!?!?!?
