Rofl. That made me chuckle inside.

I've never had any issues with viruses/adware. EVER. Not a single time, using Windows 98, 2000, or XP Home OR Pro. And it's not like I've never been to a lot of bad sites, you click links out there that link to bad places or have bad popups, but I've never had security issues. All I use is SpySweeper (doesn't protect against viruses though) and Symantec Antivirus. I never even run my SpySweeper scans very much to be honest, as I'm usually in the middle of CS when it wants to run so I cancel it

But I run my Symantec scans because it forces me to >_>

And I've never had any problems show up with the exception of one or two adware things that SpySweeper caught, but they didn't affect my comp at all from what I could tell. So no issues.

Even if Vista is a great OS, I don't think I'll get it until they come out with their first Service Pack to fix the major bugs (if any, I haven't heard of any though)

It's fresh code, but the same swiss-cheese OS implementation. Just as OSX is not secure because of incredible coding, Windows-based OS's are not insecure due to poor coding. *nix has security on the lowest level and lets everything build from that whereas windows implements security as a patch.

I'm not surprised that in the opinion of the winner of a Mac-hack contest Vista is more secure. The fact that he's the only one saying that should tell you something

Lol, so you're saying:

OSX could be less secure than XP for all I know. No one wants to target OSX because there is no point. If you want to target people would you rather go for 5% or 95%? Just because an OS is targeted more than another does not make it less secure. How many Major Viruses are there for Vista right now? Someone really needs to release a worm to the Mac community. Shake them up - bring them back to reality.

Average Mac User - "Macs don't get viruses. Windows Sucks!"

-JoeUbi

PS "Underground" communities hear my plea! Mac needs a worm!

I'm saying that the quality of the code is not what matters, but what the code is doing. This guy says that M$'s code is better quality than Apple's. I'm not disputing that (hell if I know), but that absolutely does not translate into a more secure OS

To think that people buy, rip, encode, and upload litterally millions of gigs of porn to bittorrent and rapidshare for pure charity is... a very noble suggestion.

I just run Spybot, AVG, AVG anti rootkit after every downloading session. Having a girl living in my room for the next month will probably decrease how often I have to do this.
