i hope this new update will kinda like improve performance and quality in XP gaming.

Vista is DX10 Only, If you dont have a DX10 Card it runs in DX9 Compatibility Mode But In "DXDIAG" On my Home Prem It says DX10 yet I have a DX9 Card.........

Since I got Vista (for $4 through school) a couple weeks ago, I haven't used XP since (on my other harddrive). Although I installed BF2 last night on Vista and it definitely doesn't run as well as XP. But otherwise I love Vista, I'll just use XP for gaming for now until more games come out specifically written for Vista.

it just says what version of DX you have.in vista it does not mean because you have a dx9 card that it will show DX9 in dxdiag.
