Ah I see. That is cool. Pro-active defense is what I like about kaspersky but I guess nod32 has that now as well. Thats good. I wonder if they can really detect system exploits and advanced rootkits using pro-active defense that is.

I don't have any facts but compared to Norton and McAffee, NOD32 trumps them. You can see hard disk activity is down and performance is hardly touched. I personally can't tell much different between NOD32 and AVG performance though.

For some reason I cannot install this.

It says I have NOD32 already installed but I have uninstalled it, deleted it in program files, and even ran a registry cleaner and still no go.

Nod/ESET has been the best A/V i've ever used and stuck by it for a few years now.

Eset Smart Security, although in the BETA stage; resources when not being used is as minimal as they come.

At the moment its at 1,400K, which is superb compared to other security suites i've used

Honestly it does look more like a real AV should but i really hope ESET is not trying to cater to the Norton crowd by making it all shinny and reducing the functionality.

I do like the 2.7 interface alot and as long as it allows the same amount of tweaking i have no problem looking at something shinnier

I've been using NOD32 for about 1 year and it's been great.

Yeah Kaspersky and Eset have been at war for the best AV for ages. Perhaps this new version will settle the score

I edited my post above for those that never saw the old one. . . I sort of prefer the old one as I have more control and feel more leet with a more minimalistic interface. . It goes with the whole philosophy that it has a small footprint on system performance.

Oh and I just uninstalled Kaparsky in my lappy because I saw an immediate drop in performance compared with NOD32. . I could just be an unknowing fanboy though

For a anti virus that has the best detection and defense I would go with either Kaspersky or NOD32, the new gui looks pretty nice for NOD32 once it's released i will have to see some tests before i think about switching from kaspersky though.
