That is completely incorrect, DX9 and DX10 are WAY different in the way they fundamentally work. The current DX10 is a huge improvement over DX9, 10.1 is merely an update. Think of it as a patch.

Try Oblivion (released in Spring 06).
Oblivion ran fine as well. Without AA. But thats all beside the point.

Whats wrong with buying a card 6 months old? When the drivers were crap when it was new, i basically bought it when the drivers were getting good.

And my card didnt come out till a bit later anyway.

No, a patch makes things work better.

DX10.1 makes you feel like crap cuz you cant use its new features.

So whats it for? If theres no hardware for it yet, and who knows if theres gonna be hardware for it when it comes.

The thing about DirectX10.1 is all BS, Geforce 8 series should support it completly, it's just a matter of drivers, that's for sure. It's not like the video card architecture needs to be improved for DirectX10.1
