Doesn't Linux already do that "defrag as you go" thing? I thought i read on the retail Suse Linux box that there's no need to defrag because it does it as fragging (fragmenting) happens. That's interesting.

Linux filesystems tend to be smart enough to not cram stuff in the tiniest spots possible.

Thus, until the drive gets very full, they tend not to fragment.

Exclamation

I liked DK2007 and it's background operation quite a bit. Hope the new version lives up to it's promises. Off to download the Pro trial version now! If anyone has tried it outproperly, do post your experiences. I am curious about the 2% free space defrag since i thought defragging a large file would still require free space equal to 2x the fragmented file size.

I cant defrag my Terabyte drives as it only allows up to 750gb without the pro version installed.
