Default [H-Enthusiasts] NVIDIA Caught Quacking in Crysis?

Quote:
While the issue is not as cut and dried as it used to be, there is some discussion of NVIDIA and its "cheating" in Crysis with Beta drivers. I am not sure when less than 1 frame per second to 2 frames per second became "cheating," but you can call it what you will. Cheating, or broken? I am leaning more towards "broken." Time for you guys to sound off on this one! One thing I do know is that NVIDIA is working overtime on their drivers right now to get ready for Crysis and its impending sale since the game has gone gold. If this issue were to show up in a non-Beta driver, or even the Beta driver at the time of Crysis' retail release, then it would certainly be worth discussion, but more from a "bad/broken" driver angle rather than a "cheating" angle. Nobody wants screwy reflections in the water for such minimal frame rate returns, me, you, NVIDIA, and surely not Crytek.

not happy I am assuming that dx10 would looks a lot better hopely when better drivers come out . They made Crysis look bad

will these driver improve preformance by a good amount? 30-40FPS on a GTX is just wrong.there is no this game should run as bad as it does.

I played the demo on low settings just so I could keep a avg 30FPS.

@ dukieho, thats a load of turd by the INQ. I wouldn't blame them(NVIDIA programmers), because of the fact that they have had to work extensive hours to get the drivers up and running, so they are rushing them.

Here is a link to the actual original article. It looks like the shadows only update every few frames with the NVIDIA drivers. This end up making them stretch.

From the source

I don't get the big deal. Sounds like a glitch, not..."cheating"

Load of turd? Did you read the article?

Chances are, we'd suggest, that the beta driver is just that - beta - and we'd expect a good-performing, IQ-centric official driver in time for Crysis' full release on the 16th.
