Maddox says that his website is the best in teh universe. Does that make it so?

Why does the RIAA think that they are any more right than Maddox?

I see three major problems with the record industry right now.

First, It's not that new music sucks, it's that it's being recycled too much. They're forcing artists to copy the newest, most popular sounds so everything is redundant. No one experiments anymore.

Second, the artists who do less than 10x platinum get cancelled. Not only 10 yrs ago, selling 500k was GOOD. Now, it's a failure if you just hit platinum

Third, Cd's cost too much. Certain spots sell them cheaper (circuit city, best buy) and when cds get released they're cheaper but why do cds still cost $16-$18 when tapes are like $8? The price of a cd should never excede more than $12.

Now that they are putting out their own MP3's, you can't make your own. If you want a digital copy you have to buy it again. And they will own the rights to the material for at least one hundred years beyond the death of the artist in question.

Our founding fathers are spinning in their graves at a high enough RPM to power a city.

If I buy something with MY money I should be able to do whatever I want with it as long as its not making mass copys and giving them to others.

I should be able to make a million copys for myself though.

Its not like they can do anything... ripping CDs would be like putting them on ipods and stuff as well. OVer half the population of the USA rips CDs, they can't arrest everyone. They should just give up.

Lets send the RIAA emails egging them on and supporting them. Then sick them on microsoft because windows media player rips cd's with one click of a button, and watch microsoft lawyers completely obliterate them. Easier to use the "machine" against itself than personally struggle with it lol.
