Default RIAA says Ripping CDs is Illegal
Has anyone had enough of the RIAA yet? They are now contradicting themselves.

IMO, the RIAA is grasping at straws. Record sales are down, and they've lost multiple suits (and won a few, sure). They're desperate to set in law anything they can as precedent to save/make more money. This is also a form of fear tactics. But it all comes down to the almighty dollar.

This is completely ridiculous. They cannot declare that ripping an audio CD you bought onto your own computer for personal use is illegal. Once those digital audio files exist, however, multiple illegal activities do become possible.
